5 Habits of Successful People

Pendulum Summit is unique.

There’s no equivalent event that is blessed with such an array of talented speakers and such an elite level of attendee. It promises a spectacular trident; profound inspiration, applicable learnings and enviable networking opportunities.

At the core, our ambition is to make people successful. There are few people on the speaking circuit more qualified to lecture on this topic than one of our headline speakers at Pendulum Summit New York this September 13th, Jack Canfield. Below, he outlines his five pivotal principles for success.

  1. Believe in Yourself: To create the life of your dreams, you must first believe that you are capable of making it happen. I have interviewed hundreds of elite performers, and everyone told me that they weren’t necessarily the most gifted or talented person in their field; they simply studied and worked harder than the competition to get where they wanted to be.
  2. Set Goals: Experts on the science of success have revealed that the brain is a goal-setting organism. Successful people know that if they fix a goal in their subconscious mind, it will work night and day to achieve it. They set high goals that are both realistic and measurable, and work towards them every day.
  3. Go the Extra Mile: If you’re serious about excelling in business, school and life, you must go the extra mile. You must give your customers, team and family more than is expected, and in return you will be handsomely rewarded with loyalty, referrals and greater financial returns. They don’t focus on what’s in it for them. They focus on exceeding expectation, paying extra attention to detail and delivering quality work.
  4. Take Action: The world doesn’t pay you for what you know; it pays you for what you do. Create a vision, set goals, break them down into small steps, visualise and affirm their success, believe in yourself, and then get out there and go for it. Successful people are keenly aware that nothing happens until they take action. When you take action, you trigger a host of things that inevitably carry you to success. You learn things from your experiences that cannot be learned from books, and you attract people who will support and encourage you.
  5. Practice Appreciation: When you show appreciation to the people in your lives; your employees, loved ones and colleagues; you not only make these people feel better but subtly enable them to become more successful. People are more likely to help you to achieve your goals if they believe you appreciate their efforts. Appreciation costs nothing, but its benefits are profound.
